Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist with required breast imaging experience. The role is responsible for performing diagnostic sonographic imaging using non-ionizing, high-frequency sound waves for patients of all ages while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Primary Responsibilities

Diagnostic Imaging

  • Perform ultrasound studies including obstetrical, abdominal, retroperitoneal, pediatric, vascular, and breast imaging

  • Consult with physicians regarding patient medical history and selection of appropriate procedures and equipment

  • Prepare patients for examinations and clearly explain procedures

  • Perform ultrasound examinations and maintain accurate diagnostic records

  • Complete required documentation, including financial information for each study

Clinical Support

  • Assist radiologists with invasive procedures requiring sterile technique

  • Perform routine equipment checks to ensure proper functionality

  • Report equipment malfunctions to clinical engineering

  • Ensure examination rooms are adequately stocked with linen and medical supplies

  • Schedule emergency diagnostic ultrasound procedures

  • Monitor and manage scheduled ultrasound appointments

Education and Development

  • Assist in clinical instruction of ultrasound students and residents

  • Support new investigational techniques, procedures, and equipment implementation

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiography plus a program certificate in Sonography (minimum one-year syllabus), or

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Sonography program (minimum three-year syllabus), or

  • Associate’s degree in Sonography (minimum two-year syllabus)

Registration with one of the following professional bodies is required where applicable:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)

  • UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

  • Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry

  • Ireland Department of Health and Children

  • Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM)

  • South African Health Professions Council
