Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is seeking experienced Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurses to join its clinical team. The Staff Nurse (Critical Care) – Neuro ICU is responsible for providing specialized direct and indirect patient care using evidence-based nursing practices for patients of all ages within the assigned unit. The role requires demonstrated competency in behavioral, developmental, psychosocial, and critical care needs, particularly in neurosurgical ICU settings.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Perform accurate and comprehensive admission assessments

  • Monitor and document patient condition and effectiveness of care or interventions

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on nursing theory and clinical judgment

  • Evaluate and update care plans to achieve expected outcomes

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved protocols

  • Assess and address patient and family educational needs

  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, procedures, medications, equipment use, and safety

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure respectful interaction

  • Incorporate patient safety and Magnet principles into clinical practice

  • Participate in nursing research and support organizational research initiatives

Clinical and Professional Practice

  • Apply knowledge of nursing and interdisciplinary roles to meet patient care needs

  • Deliver evidence-based care and report practice improvements supported by evidence

  • Delegate appropriate aspects of care to nursing team members

  • Promote professional communication and confidentiality

  • Respect patient rights and uphold a Patients’ First philosophy

  • Report errors and near-misses in accordance with safety policies

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification is required

  • Minimum three-year nursing curriculum from an accredited program is required

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum two years post-graduate experience in an acute care setting is required

  • Experience requirement is waived for UAE Nursing graduates after approved internship completion

  • Strong neurosurgical ICU experience is highly preferred

Certification and Licensure

  • Valid and current national nursing license is required

  • BLS from AHA or equivalent organization is required

  • ACLS and PALS relevant to specialty are required

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively

  • Fluency in written and spoken English

  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred

  • Arabic language proficiency preferred
