Synopsis
The Production Planning Engineer reports to the Lead Production Planning Engineer and ensures that safety, airworthiness, and economic objectives are achieved efficiently using capacity planning tools. The role adopts a proactive and integrated approach toward capacity planning for Line and Light Maintenance departments.
The position is responsible for monitoring resource and facility requirements to support maintenance tasks in accordance with the approved Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) and Etihad Maintenance Policy.
Key Accountabilities

Develop project plans to meet business requirements as directed by the Lead Production Planning Engineer.

Monitor Technical Operations processes to ensure seamless workflow and achievement of milestones and objectives.

Manage capacity planning tools to maintain aircraft serviceability and achieve optimal Technical Dispatch Reliability.

Establish effective internal procedures and interfaces to support departmental objectives and assist other departments with capacity planning and forecasting.

Review monthly capacity trends for Line and Light Maintenance to evaluate resource requirements and prepare budget proposals for additional resources when required.

Monitor and review the 14-day Work Load Control (WLC) plan to ensure alignment with capacity limits.

Participate in event and production meetings, contributing to decision-making processes related to Aircraft on Ground (AOG) or planned casualty requirements beyond the 14-day WLC plan.

Coordinate with stakeholders to arrange additional infrastructure and facilities such as hangars, cranes, docking systems, special tools, and parking bays to meet maintenance demands from CAMO.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Production Planning Engineer.

Ensure all work complies with approved manuals, processes, and safety standards.

Follow and enforce procedures outlined in the Safety and Quality Management Manual (SQMM).

Promote a positive safety reporting culture by identifying and reporting unsafe acts, conditions, or risks.
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, meeting eligibility for chartered engineer membership
or -
Diploma or Aircraft Maintenance License with at least seven years of aviation maintenance experience
Additional Requirements

Aircraft technical training (General Familiarization course acceptable) on at least one Etihad aircraft type

Mandatory training courses as per TPM 3.92 – Technical Operations Training Program
