The Clinical Dietician position is a vital healthcare role responsible for promoting optimal nutrition, implementing structured health programs, and supporting employee wellness initiatives within the organization.
Job Purpose
The Clinical Dietician is responsible for advising and providing professional guidance on healthy eating and nutrition to individuals and groups within the organization. The role involves assessing dietary needs, developing personalized nutrition plans, educating employees on healthy lifestyle practices, and monitoring progress toward health and wellness goals.
This position also ensures compliance with aviation medical guidelines, including implementation of structured programs such as the GCAA high BMI protocol.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Nutrition & Treatment Planning
• Implement weight reduction programs in accordance with GCAA high BMI protocol standards.
• Develop and document individualized clinical nutrition treatment plans for employees.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust dietary interventions as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress notes in compliance with medical and legal standards.
Employee Health Assessment & Counseling
• Conduct comprehensive dietary and lifestyle assessments, evaluating health conditions, nutritional requirements, and eating habits.
• Provide one-on-one dietary counseling sessions tailored to individual health goals.
• Educate employees on portion control, balanced nutrition, and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Identify and address unhealthy eating behaviors, encouraging sustainable long-term lifestyle changes.
• Offer continuous follow-up consultations and modify plans based on progress and evolving health needs.
Disease Prevention & Health Management
• Educate employees on the role of nutrition in preventing and managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, and obesity.
• Provide nutritional support to employees requiring specialized dietary plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals within the Medical Center to deliver integrated patient care.
Aviation & Catering Oversight
• Supervise uplift meals for Air Arabia aircraft from a nutritional perspective to ensure compliance with dietary standards.
• Evaluate food quality, nutritional value, and alignment with health and safety requirements.
• Provide guidance to catering services regarding nutritional improvements and dietary standards.
Corporate Wellness & Education Programs
• Deliver interactive nutrition workshops and awareness sessions for employees.
• Conduct group seminars and individual consultations focused on healthy eating habits and wellness strategies.
• Create and distribute educational materials related to nutrition, wellness, and disease prevention.
• Collaborate with on-site fitness facilities and cafeteria services to promote a holistic employee wellness program.
• Coordinate with external healthcare providers and wellness professionals when required.
Professional Development & Administrative Support
• Stay updated with the latest evidence-based nutritional research and industry best practices.
• Participate in continuing education programs, workshops, and professional conferences to enhance expertise.
• Provide administrative support to the Medical Center when required.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Line Manager in alignment with job functions.
Qualifications
Academic Requirements
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related field.
Work Experience
• 2–3 years of experience, including internship, working as a registered nutritionist in hospitals, clinics, or medical centers.
• Experience in clinical diet planning, patient counseling, and health program implementation is essential.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of clinical nutrition principles and diet therapy.
• Knowledge of chronic disease nutrition management.
• Familiarity with medical documentation standards and confidentiality protocols.
• Ability to design customized meal plans considering allergies, dietary restrictions, and cultural preferences.

This role is based at the Air Arabia Medical Center in Sharjah.
