Job Purpose

Emirates Flight Training is a modern and progressive department that applies Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) methodology across all training programs and is among the few global operators implementing full Evidence-Based Training (EBT).

As part of Emirates Airline’s continued expansion, the organization is seeking experienced aviation professionals to join its Flight Training department as Synthetic Flight Examiner (SFE) – Boeing. This is a non-flying, ground-based position responsible for conducting pilot proficiency evaluations using Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs) and overseeing ground-based assessments in compliance with General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) regulations and Emirates’ internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Proficiency Checks

• Conduct company-mandated and regulatory proficiency checks, skill tests, and simulator-based assessments using Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs).
• Ensure all evaluations are performed in accordance with GCAA regulations and Emirates training standards.
• Assess pilot competency across recurrent, type rating, recency, and command upgrade programs.

Pilot Evaluation & Reporting

• Evaluate pilot performance objectively and consistently against established benchmarks.
• Identify performance gaps and determine whether additional or remedial training is required.
• Complete and submit detailed examination reports via electronic reporting systems within required timelines.
• Maintain strict adherence to compliance, documentation, and data accuracy standards.

Training Oversight & Development

• Provide structured and constructive feedback to pilots following assessments.
• Report performance trends, systemic concerns, or improvement opportunities to training management.
• Support training program development, simulator course reviews, and enhancements in instructional methodology.
• Contribute to maintaining high safety and competency standards across Boeing fleet operations.

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure alignment with international aviation best practices and Emirates’ internal quality standards.
• Participate in standardization programs and continuous professional development initiatives.
• Uphold examiner integrity, objectivity, and professional conduct at all times.

Qualifications

• Hold or have previously held one of the following licenses:
– Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
– Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL)
– Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)

• Minimum 12 months’ experience as an active Examiner.
• Minimum 1,500 hours total flight time as a pilot on a multi-pilot aeroplane.
• Advanced communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

Salary & Benefits

• Annual basic salary up to AED 423,360 (USD 115,265).

Work Environment

The Synthetic Flight Examiner role is based in Dubai within Emirates’ advanced Flight Training facilities. The position focuses entirely on simulator and ground-based assessment activities rather than line flying.
