Purpose of the Role
The Equipment & Logistics Officer is responsible for maintaining optimal equipment stock levels across the airline’s network. The role ensures a balance between operational availability and cost efficiency while supporting galley loading plans and equipment packing lists. The position also provides recommendations for effective stowage solutions within aircraft weight limitations.
Key Responsibilities
Stock and Equipment Management

Manage stock levels, receipting, tracking, and reporting to ensure continuous availability in support of operations.

Maintain financial targets while ensuring operational readiness.

Track and document all change requests, including financial and operational impact assessments.
Supplier and Caterer Oversight

Provide specialist guidance and training to suppliers regarding equipment management and stock holding.

Monitor caterer performance related to equipment control and reporting.

Offer structured feedback to improve service standards.
Galley and Loading Planning

Create and distribute galley loading plans and equipment packing lists accurately and on time.

Ensure compliance with aircraft weight restrictions and company standards.

Maintain updated provisioning tables for all onboard equipment and service items.

Support hub and overseas caterers with the implementation of new or revised loading plans, including new station start-ups.
Compliance and Performance Monitoring

Conduct performance audits to ensure adherence to approved galley plans and equipment standards.

Maintain detailed audit logs and follow up on corrective actions.

Support aircraft trials for new service routines and new equipment introductions.
Cost and Weight Optimization

Identify opportunities to reduce onboard weight.

Recommend removal of underutilized items based on operational data.

Provide data-backed justification for efficiency improvements.
Education and Experience Requirements
Essential
-
Diploma or Degree level education.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum 4 years of airline experience.
-
At least 2 years of experience in catering operations or equipment planning.
Desirable
-
Knowledge of aircraft galleys, particularly Atlas standard configurations.
