Position Summary

The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and property assets. The role includes patrolling the premises, monitoring surveillance systems, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations

• Patrol all areas of the property and assist guests with room access

• Monitor CCTV systems, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems

• Lock property entrances when required

• Conduct daily physical hazard inspections

• Escort unwelcome individuals from the property while maintaining operational flow

• Respond to vehicle accidents, thefts, and other incidents

• Complete shift summaries and daily activity reports

• Maintain confidentiality of security and property documents

Emergency Response

• Respond to accidents and emergency situations

• Contact emergency medical services or administer first aid/CPR when required

• Assist guests and employees during emergencies

• Notify appropriate personnel of accidents, incidents, or disturbances

• Use proper code responses when calling for assistance

• Defuse guest or employee disturbances professionally

Investigation and Reporting

• Conduct investigations and gather evidence

• Interview relevant parties

• Complete detailed incident reports

• Handle complaints and safety hazard situations effectively

Compliance and Professional Standards

• Follow all company policies and procedures

• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions

• Complete required safety training and certifications

• Maintain professional uniform and appearance

• Protect company assets and confidential information

• Welcome guests according to brand service standards

• Maintain clear and professional communication

• Support teamwork and quality assurance standards

Physical Requirements

• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or entire shifts

• Move quickly to respond to incidents

• Lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 75 pounds with assistance

• Navigate narrow, confined, uneven, or elevated spaces

• Reach, bend, twist, stoop, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills

• Operate computers and point-of-sale systems as needed
